Responsibilities
As an Arboricultural Consultant, you will:
- Provide expert advice to clients on trees and development matters.
- Offer consultancy services in line with BS5837 standards and arboricultural planning.
- Work across diverse sectors, including residential, commercial, renewables, infrastructure, and estate management.
- Conduct data searches and interpret arboricultural planning policies, ensuring findings and design advice are effectively communicated in project team meetings.
- Lead fieldwork and prepare planning documents such as Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Method Statements, TPO works applications, and site promotion work, with support from the wider team.
- Utilize AutoCAD and apply knowledge of the UK planning system as it relates to trees.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess BS5837 consultancy skills and experience.
- Hold an academic qualification in arboriculture or a related environmental discipline.
- Be a technical (or higher) member of the Arboricultural Association.
- Have a strong interest in the technical aspects of arboriculture within the UK planning system.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibit strong organizational and management abilities.
- Be proactive, solution-focused, and eager to take on challenges.
- Enjoy building relationships with clients and networking within the industry.

Day-to-Day
Your daily activities will include:
- Collaborating with clients and project teams to provide expert arboricultural advice.
- Conducting site visits and fieldwork to assess tree-related considerations.
- Preparing detailed reports and planning documents to support development projects.
- Engaging in project meetings to present findings and contribute to design solutions.
- Staying updated on arboricultural policies and best practices to ensure compliance and innovation.

Salary: £29,590 - £35,830 per annum, dependent on experience.
Location: Bristol or Manchester (hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the office or on-site).
