Overview
We are working on behalf of a well-established, multidisciplinary environmental consultancy to appoint an Associate Landscape Architect for their growing team in Leeds.

Responsibilities
As an Associate Landscape Architect, you will:
- Lead landscape planning inputs across a varied portfolio of projects.
- Manage and review landscape reports to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Prepare and oversee Landscape and Visual Appraisals (LVAs), Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) inputs, and provide strategic landscape advice.
- Shape development proposals with landscape considerations at the forefront.
- Collaborate with in-house ecology, green-blue infrastructure, and arboriculture teams.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, and resources across multiple projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local planning authorities (LPAs), and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to service development and business initiatives beyond project delivery.
Qualifications
We are seeking experienced landscape professionals who are confident in leading projects, managing clients, and working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
- Approximately six years of experience in landscape planning or consultancy.
- Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or be working towards it.
- Strong experience in delivering LVAs, LVIAs, and EIA-related work.
- A sound understanding of UK planning policy and legislative frameworks.
- Excellent written, verbal, and report management skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects on time and within budget.
- Experience working with clients, statutory bodies, and local planning authorities.
- A track record of supporting work-winning or business development.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience in providing expert witness support or mentoring colleagues would be advantageous but is not essential.
Day-to-Day
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the delivery of high-quality landscape planning reports.
- Engaging with clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Shaping development proposals with landscape planning at the forefront.
- Conducting feasibility studies, LVAs, LVIAs, EIAs, and strategic landscape proposals.
- Collaborating with in-house teams, including ecology, green-blue infrastructure, and arboriculture specialists.
- Managing multiple projects and ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development of the consultancy’s services and business initiatives.
