Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of field surveys, ensuring efficient scheduling to meet project deadlines.
- Perform Preliminary Ecological Appraisals in line with established guidelines, with support from senior team members for complex sites.
- Manage a range of projects, from small-scale developments to more intricate assignments, with guidance from experienced colleagues.
- Coordinate ecological surveys, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
- Oversee project milestones, key dates, and on-site survey timetables across diverse projects.
- Collaborate with the ecology team and other departments to maintain high standards of performance and uphold the company’s reputation.
Qualifications
- A degree in ecology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in project management, ecological surveys, and consultancy work.
- Strong understanding of ecological legislation, survey techniques, and protected species mitigation strategies.
- Proficient botanical identification skills.
- Familiarity with planning policies such as the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and Local Plans.
- Knowledge of protected species licensing processes and their application in consultancy.
- Experience in ecological assessments for various sectors, including housing, commercial, transportation, and power.
Day-to-Day
- Conduct fieldwork and ecological surveys, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
- Prepare ecological reports and appraisals, contributing to the delivery of high-quality consultancy services.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address project requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions for ecological challenges.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance service delivery.
