Ecologist (FISC 4)
Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic botanist to join their established network of over 95 ecologists. Responsibilities
- Strengthening our client's existing botany expertise in the team
- Working closely with colleagues from other teams including Planning, Placemaking, Engineering, Transportation, and Asset Management
- Offering professional ecology advice across a breadth of sectors including residential, defence, energy, government services, and transport
- Completing surveys to assess site value, condition assessment surveys, NVC, specific species surveys, rare plant surveys, and more
- Leading the training of their national team and supporting the development of junior grades
- Sharing findings with the industry and encouraging research-based elements to be brought into projects
Qualifications
- FISC Level 4+ botanist
- Strong field experience and ambitions to develop technical skills in line with project requirements
- Proactive in developing knowledge and understanding of flora
- Willing and keen to share knowledge to support the development of others
Day-to-day
- The role will require site work and some travel dependent on the location of projects
- Fully flexible, hybrid working which allows ecologists to choose where, how, and when they work
