Overview:
Our client is currently seeking a skilled botanist at FISC Level 4+ to join their dynamic team and contribute to diverse projects. This position offers significant opportunities for career advancement and development as a botanist, without the necessity to transition into a management role. Responsibilities:
- Enhancing the team’s botany expertise
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Planning, Placemaking, Engineering, Transportation, and Asset Management
- Proactively building relationships across the organization
- Providing professional ecology guidance across various sectors
- Conducting site value assessments, condition surveys, NVC, specific species surveys, rare plant surveys, and more
- Leading national team training and supporting junior staff through the Identiplant course
- Sharing insights with the industry and advocating for research-based approaches in projects
Qualifications:
- FISC Level 4+ botanist
- Preferably FISC 5 and 6
- Extensive field experience
- Aspirations to advance technical skills in line with project requirements
Day-to-day:
- On-site work with potential travel based on project locations
