Embankment Group is recruiting for an experienced Ecology Resources Planning Manager to join a leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy with a strong presence across the UK and Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a resource management or workforce planning professional to play a key role in coordinating ecological teams, optimising project resources and supporting the continued growth of an established environmental business.

Offering remote working and a salary of £40,000–£60,000, the position provides the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, influence strategic resourcing decisions and contribute to the delivery of major environmental and nature-based projects.

The Role

As Ecology Resources Planning Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating workforce capacity and project demand across a large ecology and nature services team, ensuring the right people and skills are available to support successful project delivery.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Directors and operational teams to improve resource allocation, forecast future requirements and support both business performance and employee development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing resource allocation across a diverse portfolio of ecology and environmental projects.

  • Monitoring team capacity, utilisation, workloads and future project demand.

  • Coordinating resources across UK and internationally based teams.

  • Supporting short, medium and long-term workforce planning.

  • Identifying resource shortages, skills gaps and future recruitment requirements.

  • Working closely with Project Managers and Directors to prioritise staffing requirements.

  • Providing workforce data, analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Supporting resource planning for tenders, bids and upcoming projects.

  • Assisting with the mobilisation of major projects and programmes.

  • Developing and improving resource management processes, systems and reporting.

  • Balancing commercial objectives with employee development and wellbeing.

About You

We are keen to hear from experienced resource management, workforce planning or project resourcing professionals who have strong organisational skills and enjoy working in a collaborative, commercially focused environment.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in resource management, workforce planning or project resourcing.

  • Experience coordinating people and resources across multiple projects or teams.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret workforce and utilisation data.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working with Project Managers, Directors and senior stakeholders.

  • Confidence in influencing decisions and communicating resource priorities.

  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery requirements.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy, project-driven environment.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to resource planning.

Experience within ecology, environmental consultancy, engineering or another professional services environment would be particularly beneficial.

What's on Offer?

  • UK-wide remote working opportunities.

  • Opportunity to work within an established environmental consultancy.

  • Exposure to high-profile ecology, environmental and infrastructure projects.

  • Close collaboration with senior management and operational leadership teams.

  • Opportunity to influence workforce planning and strategic business decisions.

  • Professional development and long-term career progression.

  • Supportive, collaborative and multidisciplinary working environment.

  • Opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of an established environmental business.
