Responsibilities
As a Principal Ecologist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading ecological inputs on complex planning and environmental projects.
- Delivering and overseeing a wide range of ecological surveys and assessments.
- Coordinating and contributing to Environmental Statements and Appropriate Assessments.
- Providing technical oversight, review, and quality assurance of reports.
- Managing projects, programmes, and client relationships.
- Supporting the development and coordination of the ecology function within a multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:
- A strong background in ecological consultancy.
- Proven experience in delivering surveys, assessments, and reports for complex projects.
- Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Appropriate Assessment processes.
- Confidence in managing projects and advising clients.
- Membership of CIEEM or a similar professional body.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a growing team environment.
Day-to-Day
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Planning and conducting ecological surveys and assessments.
- Collaborating with planners and environmental professionals to deliver integrated solutions.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and client communications.
- Reviewing and ensuring the quality of technical reports and assessments.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members.
