The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Ecology leader ready to take on a role with genuine influence over people, projects and business growth?
We're recruiting for a Regional Ecology Lead to join an established environmental consultancy, taking responsibility for the leadership and development of ecology and environmental teams across Ireland.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial strategy, client relationships and people management.
You'll have the opportunity to lead experienced professionals, oversee a diverse portfolio of projects and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.
With an established team and client base already in place, this position offers the platform to build on existing success while identifying new opportunities for growth.
The Role
As Regional Ecology Lead, you'll have overall responsibility for supporting the performance, development and successful delivery of ecology services across the region.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Providing leadership and direction to ecology and environmental professionals across Ireland.
-
Overseeing project delivery, ensuring high technical standards, commercial performance and client satisfaction.
-
Managing regional resources, workloads, budgets and financial performance.
-
Supporting the professional development of team members and building a positive, collaborative working environment.
-
Maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for new business.
-
Providing senior technical guidance and oversight on complex ecological and environmental projects.
-
Contributing to business planning, regional strategy and longer-term growth objectives.
-
Supporting major project proposals, tenders and framework opportunities.
-
Working alongside colleagues across different technical disciplines to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
About You
We're looking for an established environmental professional with the experience, commercial awareness and leadership skills to take responsibility for a regional ecology operation.
Ideally, you'll have:
-
Significant experience within ecological consultancy, environmental management or a related discipline.
-
A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science or a similar subject.
-
Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
-
A strong understanding of ecological project delivery and environmental legislation.
-
Experience overseeing budgets, resources and operational performance.
-
A successful track record of building client relationships and identifying commercial opportunities.
-
Experience contributing to business development, tenders or major project proposals.
-
Strong communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
-
Membership of a relevant professional organisation.
You'll be comfortable balancing technical, commercial and people responsibilities, with the confidence to make decisions and support the continued success of an established team.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
This is more than a traditional technical leadership role.
You'll have the opportunity to influence business decisions, develop teams and contribute directly to the growth of the ecology function.
The position would suit someone who is commercially minded, enjoys building relationships and wants to take ownership of a regional operation while remaining connected to the environmental sector.
Whether you're currently operating at Associate Director, Director or Regional Leadership level, we'd be interested in speaking with professionals looking for their next challenge.
Salary & Career Development
The successful candidate will receive a salary of €80,000 – €100,000, depending on experience.
The opportunity also offers:
-
A senior leadership position with genuine responsibility and influence.
-
The chance to lead and develop established technical teams.
-
Involvement in business strategy and future growth.
-
Exposure to a varied portfolio of ecological and environmental projects.

Opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new markets.
-
Collaboration with experienced professionals across the wider business.
-
Long-term leadership and career development opportunities.
