Responsibilities
As a Senior Ecologist, you will:
- Manage and deliver a diverse range of ecological projects, including baseline ecological surveys, mitigation design, and biodiversity net gain assessments.
- Contribute to innovative habitat banking projects that support environmental restoration.
- Prepare high-quality reports and provide expert advice to clients on ecological matters.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Stay up-to-date with legislative and policy changes to provide informed guidance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in ecological consultancy, including habitat surveys, project management, and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and work effectively within a team.
- The ability to work independently, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
- A full UK driving licence (essential).
- A valid CSCS card and protected species survey licences (desirable but not essential).
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Conducting field surveys and assessments to gather ecological data.
- Preparing detailed reports and recommendations for clients.
- Collaborating with colleagues on project planning and delivery.
- Engaging with clients to provide updates and expert advice.
- Working flexibly, with the option for remote working, to balance fieldwork and office-based tasks.
