Overview

We are representing an award-winning environmental consultancy that is seeking to strengthen its ecology team with the appointment of a Senior Ecologist in Manchester. Responsibilities

As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in the technical delivery of projects while contributing to team development and client engagement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading habitat and protected species assessments.
  • Producing, reviewing, and signing off technical reports.
  • Managing ecological inputs across complex projects.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced ecologist who combines strong technical expertise with a practical and commercially aware approach to consultancy work. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Several years of experience in UK ecological consultancy.

  • Proven experience managing projects and delivering high-quality reports.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • A relevant degree (postgraduate study is beneficial but not essential).
