This appointment forms part of a wider growth plan, supporting the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects for a portfolio of long-standing and well-respected clients across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ecologist to take on a senior role within a growing consultancy, offering a balance of technical delivery, project responsibility, and collaboration with colleagues across planning, design, and environmental disciplines.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Ecologist, you will:
- Manage ecological projects from survey design through to reporting.
- Deliver habitat and protected species surveys.
- Produce and review technical reports and assessments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring within the ecology team.
- Support client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat work.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across other environmental disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong knowledge of UK ecology best practices and legislation.
- Experience delivering habitat and protected species assessments.
- Confidence in report writing, review, and quality assurance.
- Proven experience managing projects and client communication.
- A proactive and organised approach to workload management.
- A degree-level qualification in ecology or a related discipline.
- Protected species licences (advantageous but not essential).
