You will oversee environmental compliance across design and build projects, work within nationally significant infrastructure frameworks, and play a pivotal role in supporting business growth and operational excellence.

This position offers the opportunity to work across diverse and often sensitive landscapes, contributing to high-profile projects while helping shape internal processes, standards, and team capability as the business continues to scale.

  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring to ensure adherence to UK environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Providing technical environmental advice to clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Supporting or leading Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), site investigations, and reporting.
  • Acting as an Environmental Clerk of Works (EnvCoW) where required.
  • Managing subcontractors, labour planning, and project budgets.
  • Contributing to tenders, frameworks, and bid submissions.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational standards.
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members to foster a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Land Management, Landscape, or a related discipline.
  • Practitioner-level membership of ISEP.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, with occasional overnight stays.

Desirable:

  • Membership or Fellowship of ISEP.
  • Membership of AEnvCoW.
  • CSCS Card.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

Day-to-Day

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee multiple live projects, ensuring environmental compliance and operational excellence.
  • Attend pre-start meetings, client reviews, and internal management discussions.
  • Scope, quote, and plan works while managing subcontractor relationships and labour levels.
  • Conduct on-site audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
  • Provide expert advice to clients and internal teams on environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Lead or support licensing and consenting processes, including NSIP/SCO.
  • Develop and deliver environmental consultancy services, including EIAs and site investigations.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
  • Drive health and safety performance across all operations.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects.
  • Professional development and training opportunities, including support for further qualifications.
  • A collaborative and forward-thinking work environment.
  • The chance to shape internal processes and contribute to the growth of a high-impact environmental business.
  • Flexible working arrangements and travel opportunities across the UK.

If you are an experienced environmental professional looking to step into a senior role where you can influence both project delivery and wider business growth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation operating at scale.

Apply today to become part of a team that is making a tangible difference to the environment and infrastructure landscape across the UK.
