Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Take charge of the strategic direction and growth of the Scottish Ecology team, leveraging market insights and expertise.
• Work closely with the GB Senior Ecology Management Team to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and agile working environment.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients while identifying opportunities to tap into new markets.
• Ensure compliance with prevailing legislation, internal procedures, and industry standards across all activities.
• Stay at the forefront of professional development to uphold exceptional technical standards within the discipline.
• Mentor, guide, and nurture junior staff to support their professional growth and skill development.
• Spearhead the delivery of high-value, large-scale projects with a focus on biodiversity enhancement and innovative solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this position, you should possess the following:

• A minimum of 10 years' experience within ecological consultancy, ideally in the UK and preferably in Scotland.
• An advanced degree in ecology or a related field.
• Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and eligibility for Chartership status.
• Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to develop, inspire, and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to develop lasting client partnerships and achieve mutual success.
• Demonstrated competence in project management, including financial forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring cost control measures.
• A proven history of delivering impactful large-scale projects with demonstrable ecological and biodiversity benefits.

• Liaising with clients to identify tailored solutions that align with their project goals.
